Lactating cows: productivity stimulators

Different substances with specific nutritional effects are available. These substances are called productivity stimulators and they are used to supplement normal feeding, and they put extra milk in the tank. Specific productivity stimulators are typically used in the following situations:

  • When higher milk yields are desired
  • In the event of metabolic illnesses, such as ketosis, subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA), fatty liver, etc.
  • In the event of reproduction problems
  • In the event of problems with udder health and cell counts
  • In the event of hoof and leg problems

Specific productivity stimulators are usually administered by means of an individualised mineral compound, which is directly mixed into the compound feed or used as a top dressing.
